Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (toast, whole grain, or ciabatta)

  • 2 slices of ham or turkey breast

  • 1 slice cheddar or Swiss cheese

  • 2 slices tomato

  • 2–3 lettuce leaves

  • 1 tsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp mustard

  • 1 tsp butter (for toasting)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Directions

  • Toast the bread
    Spread butter on the bread slices and toast them in a pan until golden.
  • Sear the ham
    Cook the ham or turkey slices in a hot pan for 1–2 minutes.
  • Assemble
    Spread mayo on one slice, mustard on the other.
    Add ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce.
    Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve
    Close the sandwich and serve warm or cold.

Notes

  • Add avocado slices for extra creaminess.
    Replace ham with grilled chicken for a healthier alternative.
