4 oz dark chocolate
0.5 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
0.25 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust them with flour, then set aside.
- Melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- Whisk the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until pale and thick, then incorporate the melted chocolate mixture.
- Gently fold in the all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet for easier handling.
- Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
- Carefully remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Invert each cake onto a plate and serve immediately.
