2 slices of bread (toast, whole grain, or ciabatta)
2 slices of ham or turkey breast
1 slice cheddar or Swiss cheese
2 slices tomato
2–3 lettuce leaves
1 tsp mayonnaise
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp butter (for toasting)
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Toast the bread
Spread butter on the bread slices and toast them in a pan until golden. - Sear the ham
Cook the ham or turkey slices in a hot pan for 1–2 minutes. - Assemble
Spread mayo on one slice, mustard on the other.
Add ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce.
Season with salt and pepper. - Serve
Close the sandwich and serve warm or cold.
Notes
- Add avocado slices for extra creaminess.
Replace ham with grilled chicken for a healthier alternative.
Add pickles, jalapeños, or spicy mustard for more flavor.
Swap cheddar with mozzarella or gouda for a milder taste.
